Conference Aston to showcase sustainable innovations at CHS Birmingham
Conference Aston are returning to CHS Birmingham on 28th October 2025, and are ready to champion adopting a more sustainable approach to meetings and events with show attendees.
Able to hold everything from smaller scale boardroom gatherings to large-scale conferences, exhibitions and events, the academic venue provides 19 purpose-built meeting spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology that can be flexibly adapted to suit various layouts and requirements to ensure a seamless experience for those attending the venue.
This versatility also lends itself to the venue’s carbon-conscious approach when it comes to operating sustainably. Alongside a number of credentials including recently renewed ISO14001 and ISO50001 standards, and Green Tourism Gold and Sustainable Restaurant Association Three Star awards, a number of innovations and investments continue to keep things fresh when it comes to sustainable ideas and solutions around the venue.
Recent refurbishments across the venue have adopted an eco-friendly focused approach, including renovations to the City Single bedrooms making use of the pre-existing furniture and repurposing it as part of producing new fixtures and fittings designed to open up the space, and investment into refurbishing the Courtyard Bar cellar with new equipment to reduce emissions and save energy, with the new cooling units reducing energy usage each year by 74% and resulting in a carbon saving of 1.6 tonnes of CO₂e.
Other renovations include the recent extension of the first floor coffee station and networking space. In response to customer feedback that highlighted a need for additional space for delegates to network and enjoy our Fairtrade bean-to-cup coffee, the space was opened up to create a more accessible area for guests to relax and catch up in breaks during their meetings and events.
These renovations mark the start of larger works to come as part of the wider transformation to a Net Zero campus taking place at Aston University, with a multi-million-pound investment planned for 2026 to further improve the energy efficiency of the hotel and conference centre.
The venue is also once again helping guests enjoy a carbon-friendly Christmas celebration with carbon ratings for every dish on its festive menus, including a green approach to a traditional Christmas dinner which featured on ITV News during last year’s festive season, for party nights along with festive dinner and lunch packages.
Usha Bangar, Sales Manager at Conference Aston, said: “We’re very excited to be attending CHS Birmingham for another year and taking the opportunity to champion our region and everything we have to offer, including sharing all of the ongoing development as we continue our commitment to putting sustainability at the forefront of everything we do.
We look forward to meeting with all the attendees at the show who shares these values to connect and demonstrate how we can provide the ideal solution when it comes to sustainable meetings and events here in the heart of the UK.”
