The City Centre location for the hotel means everything Birmingham has to offer is right on the doorstep, with the wider West Midlands region within easy reach.

If you're visiting the city for leisure, you'll find Bullring and Grand Central, The Mailbox and the various independent shopping hubs from the Great Western Arcade to Birmingham New Street, plenty to satisfy those in need of some retail therapy. The many attractions of the city are well within walking distance too, from the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to Brindley Place, the Chinese Quarter and the Gay Village. We're also a short journey away from the city's premiere entertainment hubs, from sports venues such as Edgbaston and Villa Park to music and performance spaces like the Utilita Arena and The Warehouse.

The new year brings with it plenty of fresh activity taking place across the city, and we've picked out some of our favourites below for those of you with us in January:

  • This month will be the final chance to experience the Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, celebrating the life and legacy of Aston's very own rock legend

  • Strictly Come Dancing's Live Tour returns for another year at the Utilita Arena (23rd - 25th), with celebrities from the latest series bringing their ballroom dancing to Birmingham

  • A busy December is matched only by a busy January for football fans, and Aston Villa will be at home twice this month for both league football against Everton (18th) and European football up against Red Bull Salzburg (29th)
